How can I make from a retaining wall with exposed landscape?
I want to put a retaining wall in place. type rock should I below the ice dranage? Also, I want the wood to a level rather than parallel to the ground slope. I have only two feet at most, rising to 6 inches. How do I wet the wood – book on the cob and then put wood on them?
If you are only going up about 2 meters, you can get "rebar" to anchor the first level. It is available Farmking, Menards, Lowes, etc. It just a steel shaft approximately 1 / 4-1 / 2 inch in diameter depending on the size of your choice. Want to dig approximately 5 to 6 inches for your first row of beams so that you can go below ground. Then put the sand into the channel that you've dug to stabilize it. Place the timber first in the cannel and use a level to make sue it is level. If not, remove it and adjust your sand to make it level. The sand is both a leveler and freezing expansion so that the soil does not raise and do mess up your wall. Once you have that first row in place and level, you will want to drive the rebar down if the wood on the ground. Use a long length of about 3 feet. It will give stability to your wall. Now that you have the first line to the place you want to stager the joints for the 2nd line with joints in the front row so that all joints are not the same place. This adds also the stability of your wall. During the 2nd line is in place, you drive nails or screws so long to the line below. You can counter sink if you want. But make sure the nails / screws are long enough to go to the next line. Place them about every 18 to 20 inches apart. Continue this process until the wall is the height you want. To bridge back, you want to start with the sand .. approximately 3 to 4 inches. Then make a row of small quality gravel about 6 inches. Top It Off with dirt. You can rent a compactor ground for about $ 20 and done a very nice to done with the land and ensure it is tight so you do not have draft. Or you can do it the old way and get a head 2 x 4 and make a T out of it with a bit shorter and pack down with it. You want the water really well after packing to see if spots will run.
