Alto Sax

The saxophone is a wonderful instrument that adds depth and variety of many pieces of music. It is a wind instrument made of wood and it uses a single reed attached to its mouth. The reed vibrates as air passes through it to allow the saxophone to produce its sensational effects.

Early 1800s, Adolphe Sax noticed that there was a bit of a gap between the brass and sections of the wind orchestra.
