HD Radio is a wonderful new digital technology that makes AM radio sound as good as today's FM radio and FM radio broadcasting almost as if you were listening to a CD. These digital broadcasts not only dramatically improve the audio quality, they also provide several channels of radio through multiple casting, and new data services.
To date, six manufacturers have offered HD Radio solutions for your car. Here is a list of audio systems available as of November 14, a brief description of each, and some examples of prices.
JVC: The JVC HD radio KDSHX900 is an HD Radio Tuner Receiver Motorized Slide-Out Face. It has a 256-color OEL representation. In addition, the SHX900 HVC is Sirius compatible and has a detachable control panel with carrying case and a multi-function wireless remote. Shop.com has this unit priced at $ 875.00.
Panasonic: The Panasonic CQ-CB890IU HD is a full-featured, in a service panel that includes the HD Radio and XM Satellite ready. It has bass, treble and fader controls balance and maximum power of 50W x 4. There is a text display for XM, CD and full HD. The unit comes with a remote control without wire and weighs just 5.73 lbs. Shop.com also the unit price of $ 398.99
Sanyo: On the lower end ago the Sanyo HD radio (ECD-HD1990M) is an HD Radio in-dash CD player and WMA/MP3 with Front AUX in. It has a removable front panel and full year, credit-car size remote. The power output is 50W x 4. Its apron features motorized CD loading CD and the reading of two CD-R and CD-RW. The display is a Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) and there is a rotary volume and tone. SavingLots.com this unit has an affordable $ 199.95.
Alpine: The Alpine DVA9965 is an outstanding all around in dash stereo that plays CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs (including discs loaded with MP3 and WMA files), DVDs, DVD-R and DVD-RW. It features a fold down detachable face with vivid display BioLite. Although this unit has no internal Ampere (an external amplifier is required), it has a built-in HD radio tuner, and is both XM and Sirius ready. Digitalphoto.com has this unit priced at $ 1092.50 $.
Kenwood HD Tuner: The Kenwood EZ700SR is a thin, compact, powerful AM / FM, HD radio and CD player receiving a matrix display with backlight LED white. His section of CD may handle both CD-R and CD-RW and it plays back both MP3 and WMA files. This unit offers red or green illumination color choice, and incorporated into Sirius Satellite Radio and comes with an antenna for Sirius Satellite Radio. Its price is $ 314.95 for audio-warehouse-express.com.
Eclipse HD Tuner: This tuner HD, HDR-105 is a compact 6-19/64 1-7/16 6-29/32 ". This is a tuner only and must be connected to Eclipse amplifier. The unit is said to be easy to install these products with Eclipse: VN5435, CD8455, CD8445, CD5435, CD5425 and CD5415. Cardomain.com lists the Eclipse HDR-105 tuner $ 449.95
